Continuation of Support to ERO in Advancing the Guarantees of Origin System

The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) continues to advance the development of the regulatory and institutional framework required for the implementation of Guarantees of Origin (GoOs), an important step towards greater transparency, renewable energy market integration, and alignment with European energy market practices.

Through the support of the Luxembourg-funded programme implemented by LuxDev, technical assistance has been provided to ERO in developing the necessary regulatory framework, strengthening institutional capacities, and supporting preparations for participation in the European Energy Certificate System (EECS) and cooperation with the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB).

This joint effort contributes to the implementation of Kosovo's energy sector reforms and supports the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Economy for accelerating the energy transition, increasing the share of renewable energy sources, and facilitating future regional and European market integration.

ERO remains committed to working closely with the Ministry of Economy, LuxDev, and other stakeholders to establish a credible and transparent system for tracking renewable energy production and supporting the country's sustainable energy future.
