ERO part of the panel on women in energy organized by CEER
This week, the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) organized the “Women in Energy Awayday” event at the CEER Secretariat in Brussels, which brought together professionals from the energy sector to discuss and provide training on gender equality in the energy sector.
The representative of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), Ms. Ilirjana Tolaj, also participated in the event, and was a panelist in the discussion on initiatives and policies that support the inclusion of women in the energy sector. During her presentation, she focused on the developments of recent years to empower women in STEM fields and in the energy sector in particular, including national level initiatives, strategic partnerships, internship and mentoring programs, as well as measures for the inclusion and empowerment of women within the framework of the Energy Strategy 2022-2031. She also addressed remaining challenges, including structural barriers and stigmas that affect women’s representation in the sector.
ERO remains committed to advancing gender equality in the energy sector, actively supporting initiatives for women’s empowerment, professional development and the promotion of inclusive leadership.
