PRESS RELEASE
The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) emphasizes that the electricity market opening process is fully in compliance with the applicable legislation, conducted transparently and impartially, while respecting all procedural and material standards.
The legality of this process is being confirmed every day by the competent courts, through rulings supporting ERO's actions, confirming that all steps have been taken in accordance with the applicable laws in the Republic of Kosovo.
All commercial customers who have met the criteria for transition to the open market are obliged to be supplied by a licensed supplier. The temporary supply through the Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR) ends today, 30 July 2025, and the guaranteed transitional period for supply of 60 days is defined in the legislation and cannot be extended by administrative decisions.
ERO calls on all commercial customers who must be in the open market and who have not yet concluded a commercial supply contract, to act without delay and choose one of the licensed suppliers, published on the institution's official website, because from tomorrow, interruptions will occur since the guaranteed supply through the Guaranteed Supplier (SoLR) will no longer be legally valid.
ERO remains committed to ensuring a fair, functional, and competitive electricity market, serving customers and in compliance with local legislation and European standards.
