Session six (VI) of the ERO Board

 

 

The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) Board today held its 6th consecutive session for this year.

 

In this session, the Board approved the requests of the Transmission and Market System Operator (KOSTT) for the approval of the Long-Term Electricity Balance 2023-2032, and gave its consent to the Generation Adequacy Plan. The Long-Term Electricity Balance presents the 10-year forecasts of the balance between production and demand for electricity, as well as projections of the needs for electricity import and export, including the pollutant emission assessment during the electricity production process.

In the session, the Board approved the Rule for the Preparation and Evaluation of Development and Investment Plans of System Operators in the Energy Sector. With the approval of this Rule, the methodology and the sequence of steps for the preparation and evaluation of the Development and Investment Plans of the System Operators in the energy sector in Kosovo have been defined, including the evaluation of the Capital Projects that will be part of the Development and Investment Plans, as well as the methodology for the regulatory assessment of Development and Investment Plans.

 

Further in the session, the Board approved the Rule for the Closed Distribution System. The approved Rule defines the criteria and conditions for the implementation of the Closed Distribution System, namely the definition of application and licensing procedures for the Closed Distribution System Operator, and will define the rights and obligations of the Closed Distribution System operator and consumers.

The Board approved the requests of the Kosovo Electricity Distribution System Operator (KEDS) for the approval of the one-year investment plan and the loss reduction plan in the distribution network.

Part of the Board’s review were also some consumer complaints and other issues related to the operation of the sector and the Energy Regulator Office.
