The Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), also President of the Energy Community Regulatory Board (ECRB), Mr. Ymer Fejzullahu, chaired the 62nd meeting of the Energy Community Regulatory Board, which was held on 30 September 2025 in Athens. ERO Board Member, Mr. Gani Buçaj, also participated in this meeting. This meeting brought together representatives of energy regulators from contracting and participating parties of the Energy Community, serving as an important platform for the exchange of experiences and the discussion of key issues in the field of energy.

The discussions focused mainly on regulatory developments in the contracting parties as well as on recent developments in the Energy Community related to market reforms and the regional integration process. An important part of the agenda was also dedicated to the development of regional mechanisms for the management of transmission capacities, which are essential for ensuring security of supply and increasing the efficiency of the regional electricity market.

The meeting also included discussions within the ECRB working groups, including Customers and Retail Markets, Electricity, Gas and REMIT Implementation. These working groups provided a broad overview of the challenges and achievements in each sector, promoting a comprehensive approach to building a functioning and sustainable market.

In his speech, Mr. Fejzullahu emphasized the importance of the close cooperation between contracting parties, as a necessary prerequisite for the creation of a transparent, competitive and integrated energy market and that the active involvement of regulators in regional processes is essential to enable further approximation with European standards and to guarantee direct benefits for customers.
