PRESS RELEASE

The Board of Energy Regulatory Office held a meeting with representatives of Millennium Challenge Corporation MCC

Today, on 07.07.2022, ERO held a meeting with the representatives of MCC to discuss the implementation modalities of the program, which includes three projects: reserves and energy arbitration (batteries with a capacity of 170 MW, which provide a reserve for 340MWh), the development of the workforce and the involvement of women in the energy sector as well as the Project of the American Catalyst Facility for Development, where in total these projects reach the value of over 200 million dollars.

Among other things, the participants of the meeting discussed the importance of deepening the cooperation between all the respective institutions in the country, so that this project can begin to be implemented in line with the appointed deadlines. The importance of drafting primary and secondary legislation, in harmony with EU directives and other legislation in force, as early as possible, was also part of the discussion.

ERO expressed its deep gratitude to MCC representatives for the largest investment so far in the country for the energy sector and pledged to continue the fruitful cooperation towards the provision of legal and operational facilitation for the functionalization of this program.
