The meeting of the Implementation Group for the Coupling of Electricity Markets between Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia and Greece

On 22.10.2025, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office, Mr. Fejzullahu, also the leader of the Implementation Group of the Electricity Market Coupling Project between the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia and Greece, the next meeting of the Implementation Group for the coupling of electricity markets was held.

During the meeting, key issues related to the progress of technical and institutional cooperation between the parties were addressed. The members of the Implementation Group discussed the latest proposal of the Agency for Cooperation of European Regulators (ACER) regarding their position on the Regional Capacity Calculation (CCR). During the discussion, the members of the Implementation Group agreed to support the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in their efforts to support the update of the SEE Regional Capacity Calculation (CCR) methodologies across the borders of the respective countries’ bidding zones.

The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the accession process to the project Italian Borders Working Table (IBWT), and discussed the progress of the transposition of the European legislation package for energy market integration in Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia.

Finally, the members expressed their commitment to the integration of energy markets and the construction of a more efficient regional energy market, which will contribute to increasing the security and sustainability of energy supply in the region.
